This role provides opportunities for career growth, including exposure to corporate governance, regulatory affairs, and financial services compliance, with the potential for progression towards a Deputy Company Secretary position.This position will focus on commercial transactions, contract negotiations, and regulatory support rather than dispute resolution or litigation. The ideal candidate will thrive working independently, effectively manage external legal counsel, and support cross-functional teams.Location: Hybrid (Sydney) | Remote (Melbourne, Gold Coast)Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate SaaS agreements, technology services contracts, API licensing, and vendor agreements.Provide legal input on enterprise-level partnerships and high-value commercial negotiations.Manage data privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property (IP) law considerations in contracts.Regulatory & Compliance Support:Advise on financial services regulation with an emphasis on technology solutions and SaaS-based compliance.Support AML/CTF obligations in coordination with the Compliance function.Act as a liaison for external legal counsel, triaging legal matters, providing briefs, and escalating issues when necessary.Corporate Governance & Deputy Company Secretary Pathway:Assist the Company Secretary in corporate governance duties, including board reporting, entity management, and regulatory filings.Over time, develop board governance experience and contribute to company secretarial responsibilities.Employment & Policy Support:Assist with employment law matters and internal policy development in collaboration with HR and Compliance.Expected Qualifications & Experience4-8 years PQE, admitted in Australia (Australian Practising Certificate required).Strong commercial law background, with in-house or consulting experience preferred.Expertise in SaaS, technology contracts, API licensing, IP law, and cybersecurity regulations.Experience negotiating enterprise-level contracts and technology agreements.Familiarity with financial services regulation (AUSTRAC, ASIC) and fintech compliance.Strong ability to work autonomously while collaborating across legal, compliance, risk, and commercial teams.Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience coordinating external legal counsel.Desired but Not EssentialExperience in capital raising, M&A, or corporate finance.Knowledge of open banking regulations & Consumer Data Right (CDR).Familiarity with corporate governance for public unlisted companies.Exposure to employment law and HR-related legal matters.Discover the Perks of Joining UsESOP for All: Eligibility for our Employee Share Option Plan.Me Days: 4 additional days off every year on top of regular entitlements.Celebrate Together: Half-yearly parties, town halls, and monthly events unite us.Pet-Friendly Office: We understand the joy that pets bring!AFR Best Places to Work Nominee and Winner of Best Practice, Employee WellnessWhy Choose Send?At Send, we thrive on a flat and inclusive team structure where every member plays a pivotal role in our success.
