Theyre building next-generation solutions that reimagine how decentralized technologies and intelligent systems power businesses, financial services, and everyday experiences.As we continue our rapid growth across the Asia-Pacific region, they''re looking for an experienced and visionary Human Resources Director to lead our people strategy and build a world-class organization from the ground up.Role OverviewAs HR Director, you will be responsible for shaping the company''s human capital strategy, scaling our workforce, and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and inclusion. You will play a critical role in aligning talent and organizational design with business goalsacross local and global teams.This is a senior leadership position, ideal for someone with 15+ years of HR experience, including 5+ years in a Director or Head of HR role at a high-growth technology company or startup.You will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with executive leadership across Melbourne and international offices.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic HR LeadershipDevelop and execute an HR roadmap aligned with company goals, supporting rapid growth and international expansion.Advise the executive team on organizational structure, leadership development, and talent planning strategies.Translate business objectives into HR strategies that support culture, engagement, and performance.2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningBuild and scale a high-performing recruitment function to support hiring across engineering, product, commercial, and operations.Create innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent in AI, Web3, and crypto sectors.Lead workforce planning and internal mobility programs to optimize resource allocation.3. Culture & Employee ExperienceDrive company culture initiatives to ensure a values-driven, inclusive, and high-engagement work environment.Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all talent and leadership pipelines.Design programs that enhance employee morale, belonging, and collaboration in a hybrid or remote-first environment.4. Performance Management & Leadership DevelopmentDesign and implement performance frameworks, OKRs, and continuous feedback systems.Lead executive coaching, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives across teams and functions.Oversee learning & development strategy with a focus on technical, managerial, and innovation skills.5. Compensation, Benefits & ComplianceDevelop competitive, equity-inclusive compensation strategies aligned with startup and tech industry benchmarks in Australia and APAC.Oversee benefits design, employee wellness, and total rewards programs tailored to diverse employee needs.Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with Fair Work Australia, employment laws, and crypto/tech sector-specific employment frameworks.6. Change Management & HR OperationsLead organizational change initiatives, from restructuring to M&A or international expansion.Build and optimize scalable HR operations, systems, and policies to support fast growth.Implement and manage HR tech stack (e.g., HRIS, ATS, L&D platforms) to drive data-informed decisions.Requirements15+ years of progressive HR experience, with 5+ years at Director or executive level within high-growth or startup environments.Proven ability to scale people operations from early-stage to multi-region or global organizations.Experience working in or with technology companiesAI, blockchain, crypto, fintech, or Web3 preferred.Strong knowledge of Australian labour law, compliance frameworks, and regulatory practices.Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Strategic mindset with the ability to operate hands-on when needed.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting remote and distributed teams across APAC or global regions.Familiarity with crypto/token compensation, global mobility, and Web3-native work structures (e.g., DAOs, contributor models).Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or Business Administration; MBA or HR certifications (e.g., AHRI, SHRM) a plus.What they OfferCompetitive compensation and equity package.Leadership role at the forefront of AI and blockchain innovation in Australia.Opportunity to build and shape an HR function from the ground up.Flexible, hybrid working environment in Melbournes growing tech hub.A mission-driven culture where innovation, autonomy, and growth are encouraged.Note: Due to high application volume, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
