Vessel Master 45 SeaLink Marine and Tourism, K''gariAbout The RoleAs a Vessel Master 45m you will be responsible for ensuring our guests have a safe and informative sailing between River Heads and the world renowned K''gari (Formally Fraser Island), one of Australia''s most iconic destinations. You will also ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, vehicles and cargo.In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with a broad range of people and provide customer service excellence to guests during their transit experience.This is permanent part-time role. We encourage candidates local to Hervey Bay with relevant requirements and qualifications gained on a commercial vehicular and passenger vessel to apply.At SeaLink K''gari, we pride ourselves on our commitment to workplace health and safety and providing exceptional customer service at every stage of the guest experience.Key Role RequirementsOperate a vessel for the safe transfer of passengers, resort guests and cargo in a professional manner with due regard to relevant laws and regulations.Exceeding guests service expectations by providing an enjoyable and informative commentary service.Conduct all required safety drills and training with crew.Conduct engine maintenance: pre/post-departure checks, fault reporting and assist with scheduling of vessel servicing.Maintain a thorough knowledge of maritime regulations and always ensure compliance.Prepare reports and documentation as required by company policies and regulatory bodies.Skills, Qualifications & ExperiencePrevious experience as a Vessel Master 45mHold a current Marine Engine Driver 2 LicenceA valid Driver''s LicenceCurrent First Aid CertificateA natural flair for delivering exceptional marine serviceStrong communication skills, both written and verbalPrevious tourism qualification will be highly regardedAbout UsK''gari is a World Heritage listed island off Australias Eastern Queensland coast, is the worlds largest sand island, stretching over 120km.
