The opportunity Our national Hazardous Materials & Occupational Hygiene team comprises licensed asbestos assessors, certified occupational hygienists, senior toxicologists, and laboratory professionals. We''re growing the local team and currently hiring a Consultant and a Senior Consultant. You will be based in our Newcastle office and contribute to enhancing environmental health and safety (EHS) standards within workplaces, safeguarding workers'' health and wellbeing, and protecting our clients'' reputation while meeting regulatory and best practice requirements. We have recently delivered asbestos, HAZMAT, and occupational hygiene consultancy services across various workplace environments, from large-scale industrial sites to specialist research facilities. This is an exciting role with overtime opportunities, excellent working conditions, and a diverse team of experts to support your career development, including training and mentoring. What youll do Conduct asbestos and HazMat audits in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential properties, including: Regulatory-required condition and re-inspection audits Pre-demolition and refurbishment assessments for regulatory and investigative purposes Develop asbestos monitoring and remediation strategies, and issue clearances Provide technical guidance during asbestos and lead removal projects Conduct indoor air quality, mould, and moisture assessments Perform occupational hygiene assessments for various contaminants such as dust, noise, and chemicals Analyze data and prepare technical reports with support from senior staff and technical specialists Assist with strategy and business development About you You likely have tertiary qualifications in a scientific field, environmental management/science, health and safety, or occupational hygiene. Ideally, you will have: Initiative and competence in technical aspects, with a willingness to embrace new challenges Strong report writing and communication skills Personal, client, and project management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work remotely occasionally, with occasional weekends and overtime Experience in measuring and assessing occupational hazards and conducting asbestos and HazMat surveys An Asbestos Assessors License (highly regarded) A full Australian Driver''s License if travel to client sites is required Imagine a better future for you and for us all.
