This includes supporting all production work on blocks and ships, as well as assisting with other related tasks as required.Key responsibilities include:Ensure services align with the Manufacturing Plan and quality/technical standards are met or exceededPerform only tasks you are qualified and competent to do, including those requiring high-risk licensesCollaborate with the Manager to ensure all equipment is certified, tested, and safely maintainedSupport safety and housekeeping by reporting maintenance issues and maintaining organised work areasOversee tooling and consumables: issue to production teams, monitor stock levels, and report needsFoster a positive work environment, engage in team safety and quality goals, and complete required trainingAbout YOUHold and maintain the appropriate licenses for operating equipment and performing tasks within the shipyardDemonstrated ability to manage all aspects of your role with accountability for outcomes and performanceStrong communication with a focus on teamwork and collaborationCommitted to safety and contributing to a safe and compliant work environmentReliable time management and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office desirable), with flexibility to support shift work as requiredExperience within a Defence or Naval or Shipbuilding environmentDefence security clearance or eligibility to obtainWhile this role is based on site, at BAE Systems we value work-lifebalance andoffer a 9-day fortnight, to recharge and enjoy more personal time.We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don''t tick all the boxes.
