For position-specific inquiries, contact the designated person.Position OverviewWe invite qualified medical practitioners to apply for a position supporting the Mental Health Unit at Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital and community mental health teams across the Mountains and Lithgow. Applicants eligible for Fellowship within 5 months with minimal assessments may be considered; however, appointment eligibility depends on completing all qualifications. The role involves participating in a district-wide after-hours roster.This permanent role focuses on delivering timely, need-based care in acute inpatient, community settings, and supporting hospital and Emergency Department presentations. Explore our achievements on our YouTube Channel and learn more at Website.Selection CriteriaRegistration with AHPRA; Fellowship of RANZCP or equivalent; NSW drivers license; commitment to CPD and reflective practice.Experience in high-quality mental health services within psychiatry; commitment to recovery-oriented, family-inclusive, trauma-informed care.Ability to work collaboratively across interprofessional teams, including lived-experience professionals; broad knowledge of psychiatry across biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual domains.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in documentation.Experience in teaching, supervision, and interprofessional learning.High ethical standards and professional attitude suitable for a senior medical practitioner.Support for quality improvement and clinical governance; commitment to public sector care quality.Familiarity with research activities and evidence-based practice.Additional ConditionsAppointments are subject to the Health Services Act 1997, Staff Specialists (State) Award, and NSW Health Code of Conduct.
