The program aims to significantly enhance healthcare for all people in Tasmania by creating a more connected and accessible health system, ensuring that all Tasmanians receive the care they need, in the right place, at the right time, ultimately improving health outcomes across the state.*** Please Note: An organisational restructure is currently underway, which may result in some positions being relocated to the Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program. Further details will be provided during the interview process. ***The Role:The Specialist Project Manager leads the delivery of complex, high-impact projects within the Health ICT capital and operational portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder needs. The Specialist Project Manager roles require expertise to lead in one or more of the following areas:Clinical Engagement & Functional DesignAmbulance electronic Patient Care Record (AePCR)Data MigrationIntegrationInteroperability & TechnologyEMR Foundational InfrastructureThis role provides leadership and mentorship to project teams, offering expert guidance and authoritative decision-making to ensure successful end-to-end delivery of projects. It manages contract negotiations, vendor performance, and governance activities, ensuring timely, on-budget execution that meets high standards.The Specialist Project Manager fosters collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, driving seamless coordination and impactful project outcomes in support of the Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program.You will need:Demonstrated specialist knowledge and extensive experience in the end-to-end delivery of complex and high impact ICT and/or digital health projects, in a government or healthcare setting.Proven skills in contemporary project management methodologies and managing complex stakeholder groups to deliver high-quality outcomes within constrained timeframes and budgets.Expertise in managing technology-driven change, promoting adoption of digital health solutions, and delivering high-quality outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.High level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and judgement in identifying risks and issues and providing recommendations and solutions.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Why Tasmania:The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services.
