Director Cyber Security Defence & Capability Do you have a passion for cyber security with a vision for enhancing cyber resilience across NSW? Ongoing opportunity based in the McKell building, Sydney, with in-office presence required. Flexible working arrangements are available to staff in Digital.NSW. Total Remuneration Package starting from $233,000 per annum including superannuation to commensurate with experience About the Role As the Director of Cyber Security Defence & Capability, you will lead the whole of government coordination efforts enhancing the NSW Government''s capability to detect, assess and respond to cyber security incidents while fostering a resilient cyber security culture across NSW Government. You will manage a team of 25FTEs, including 5 direct reports, and oversee the development of cyber security and defence initiatives. What Will a Typical Day Look Like? Managing a 24/7 cyber incident response and intel capability, providing essential support to NSW Government agencies. Leading the All-of-Government Technical Officers Group to address cyber incidents. Driving the development and ongoing management of the NSW Cyber Portal enhancing technical capabilities. Implementing proactive measures to identify vulnerabilities and risks through targeted scanning, monitoring, and threat intelligence. Supporting the office of the NSW Chief Cyber Security Officer on the delivery of branch initiatives. What is the Role Here to Achieve? Ensure the development of initiatives of cyber security and defence initiatives. Support the NSW Chief Cyber Security Officer to lead the crisis response for NSW Government significant and major cyber incidents Provide expert operational and technical advice as part of the Cyber Security NSW senior leadership team. Implement proactive measures aligned with industry best practices. Address cyber incidents in accordance with the NSW Emergency Management Cyber Incident Response Plan. Enhance technical capabilities while ensuring adherence to security policies and standards. Does This Sound Like You? An optimistic and consultative attitude who enjoys leading by example. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and tasks. Extensive leadership experience in cyber security managing incident response, intelligence and security development capabilities noting incident response will require 24x7 availability. Demonstrated consequential management experience. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a proven ability to navigate complex interagency collaborations. Solid understanding of vulnerability assessments, management capability, remediation and threat intelligence. Interested?
