GAZ - EL 2 - Director - Migration Operations and Support FCFCOA (Division 2)Ongoing/non-ongoing, Full-timeMelbournePosition OverviewThe Director - Migration Operations and Support FCFCOA (Division 2) is responsible for managing, coordinating, and providing strategic oversight of operational, legal, and administrative support staff within the Courts Registrar and Migration Team. The role reports to the Deputy Principal Registrar and the CEO/Principal Registrar of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. It is a key part of a national operations team, working closely with the Director Migration Registrars and Legal Operations to oversee daily operations and develop initiatives to enhance team performance.The main responsibilities include:Managing and providing strategic direction to staff within the Registrar and Migration Team.Enhancing team capacity through recruitment, training, and development programs.Overseeing daily team operations, ensuring well-supported staff including Registrars, Cultural Liaison Officers, Pro bono Officers, and Interpreters.Leading team development and stakeholder engagement strategies.Implementing initiatives for administrative and legal staff development.Managing projects and supporting broader national operations functions as needed.The position offers a salary of $133,382 - $154,359 per annum plus superannuation, based in Melbourne.Going forward, the role may also involve managing administrative staff in the Courts General Federal Law area and other operational responsibilities.Key Responsibilities and DutiesThe Director manages operational staff and supports the Courts leadership in areas including:Professional education, wellbeing, and induction programs for the team.Engagement and onboarding of key staff.Coordination of conferences, functions, and meetings.Legal and policy project support, including research, analysis, and reporting.This role requires agility, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
