Join to apply for the Disability Justice Coordinator role at Victorian Department of Families, Fairness & Housing 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants THE ROLE The Disability Justice Coordinator supports people who have a disability and are involved in the criminal justice system. They assess and coordinate forensic disability supports for a forensic disability client based on their needs, risks, and goals, and advocate for any other support they require through other universal service systems. The Disability Justice Coordinator helps the forensic disability client understand the court process, conditions of bail, parole, and/or their order, and coordinates access to interventions to reduce reoffending risks and address behaviors of concern. They aim to improve the client''s quality of life and support community safety. The Coordinator seeks to maximize the client''s access to the NDIS through advocacy and liaison with the NDIA, as well as secondary consultation with NDIS service providers to ensure their forensic disability needs are met. Knowledge, experience, or interest in disability case management with strong report writing, assessment, and planning skills Experience and/or interest in working with clients who have complex and multiple support needs Experience and/or interest in the criminal justice system A willingness to learn Accountabilities Include Coordinate support and services for clients involved in the justice system, aiming to decrease reoffending likelihood Conduct complex assessments, implement and review justice-based plans, set goals, monitor progress, and make referrals Operate according to legislation and departmental standards, exercising appropriate authorities and delegations, including review of justice-related plans and ensuring quality care and safety How To Apply Please read the full position description.
