Whittens is an Australian owned and operated multidisciplined civil construction company, proudly offering over 23 years experience throughout Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.With a growing reputation, we continue to partner with some of Australias major Infrastructure, Mining, Oil and Gas and Defence clients, specialising in the delivery of large scale and technically complex concrete construction, roadworks, earthworks and piping works projects.Our mission, as an agile and people centric business, is to be the market leader in civil contracting, achieving sustainable growth through high performing people who safely deliver successful project outcomes for their clients.About The RoleReporting to the Project Manager, our autonomous HSE Advisors are responsible for supporting the project to successfully implement the HSE management system and programs to achieve a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment.We are looking for experienced individuals to actively coach our employees to promote a positive culture on site. These roles will work on a 2/1 FIFO roster to our FRP Tunnel Infrastructure project in the Snowy Mountains area of NSW, flying from Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney.Your RoleMonitor and review Project HSE Management Plans (including Emergency Response Plan)Deliver Corporate and client HSE programmesCreation of Project specific toolbox topics to address local HSE issues and facilitation of toolbox meetingsCoach and influence site workers and management on the Projects hazard and risk management tools (e.g. JHA/SWMS, Take 5, hazard report and permits) and reinforce safe behaviours and address at-risk behaviours in the fieldConduct and support with incident investigations and identify causal factorsChampion HSE inspections with site personnel (including subcontractors) and coach participants in identifying hazards and controlsMonitor and review HSE registersSupport injury management on site including monitoring injured persons and projects adherence to return to work plans onsiteCompletion of HSE ReportsBuild effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including client representativesAbout you:Demonstrated experience as a HSE Advisor on High-Risk Civil projectsTunnel construction and/or FRP project experience - A definite advantageExperience with FIFO or DIDO projects working for a ContractorFormal OSH Qualifications such as Cert IV or Diploma is preferredCert 4 in Training and Assessment - An advantageSelf-starter with ability to communicate with all stakeholder levelsWhat we offer:Whittens are committed to investing in our people, offering learning and development opportunities to build on the skills and experience you bring.Generous and competitive salary package plus 30% site uplift on weekly payWork amongst engaged leaders and collaborative teamsHigh-performance supportive HSE culturePaid Parental LeaveNovated Lease optionEligibility for cash bonuses as part the employee referral programLong term permanent role and the opportunity to work on a range of projects across AustraliaWhittens is committed to workplace diversity.
