Our primary location is in Beresfield, NSW, but the role may occasionally require travel to Sydney, interstate, and overseas to support our clients systems and equipment.About the roleJFD Cowan, a leader in manufacturing and part of the JFD Group, is seeking a Quality Control Officer to join our team in Beresfield. This role involves deploying quality frameworks at the start of product or service development and ensuring they meet customer, international, and regulatory standards. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including engineering and production teams, to define and implement quality control processes that uphold JFD Cowans commitment to excellence.Primary duties include:Develop and deploy quality frameworks in liaison with engineering and production, and oversee development of Quality Control Plans, ITPs and quality process and procedure documentation.Carry out internal and supplier process manufacturing audits and maintain quality assurance.Facilitate root cause analysis on part or product quality issues working through the corrective action process with relevant stakeholders. Participate in lessons learned activities.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceDemonstrated Quality Control experience in an engineering or manufacturing related industry.Relevant certifications such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent.Strong understanding of quality control standards and industry codes, including AS/NZS 1554, AS/NZS ISO 3834, AS 1796, AS/NZS 2214, and the Model Code of Practice for Welding Processes.Familiarity with visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance.Understanding of industry regulations such as ISO 9001:2015.Why work for JFD Cowan?Join a team of people who are passionate about their job.Opportunity to expand the role and obtain new skills and experience.Contribute to a growing and successful business with an exciting order book.Wellbeing programs employee assistance program to support you and your immediate family with counselling and support as needed.Flexible working arrangements, including a condensed working week to support a half day every Friday.Free on-site parking.How to applyApplicants must have existing Australian work rights and ability gain security access to Australian defence establishments.
