About The Role The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations. Under the direction and supervision of Environmental Service Coordinators, you will support the hospital''s operational needs. Youll work within a fast-paced, team-focused environment at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. Responsibilities include: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all areas, including wards and operating theatres. Cleaning, restocking, and storing equipment used during shifts. Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times. Adhering to infection control guidelines and principles. About You Experience in healthcare cleaning roles is desirable. Availability for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety policies. Experience in hazard identification. Understanding of hygiene principles. Flexibility to work a rotating roster (desirable). Additional Duties: Cleaning tasks, including decontamination and equipment cleaning. Transporting patients, managing linen and waste, assisting with patient lifting and bed making. Reporting risks and hazards. Performing other duties as assigned.
