The Customer Response Branch enforces Councils Local Laws, policies, and relevant State legislation, focusing on education and self-regulation. The role involves working collaboratively within a multi-functional team across the Response Services Unit and broader Customer Response Branch and Customer Engagement & Planning Services Group.Key dutiesInvestigate complaints and serve notices to ensure compliance with Local Laws, State Acts, and Regulations related to abandoned vehicles, animal management, footpath trading, illegal parking, camping, litter, overgrown land, signage, public land use, vandalism, and vegetation removal.Impound abandoned vehicles, vessels, stray animals, illegal advertising devices, and other illegally placed goods on Council land.Provide advice and support regarding Local Laws and legislation, ensuring property owner compliance with directives for animal keeping.Gather evidence for prosecutions, issue infringement notices, and appear in court as a witness.Patrol beaches, parks, reserves, roads, and other Council-controlled land for breaches of laws and take appropriate action.This position is based at Sunshine Coast City Hall in Maroochydore CBD, a state-of-the-art, sustainable building designed for collaboration.About YouYou will have relevant experience in Response Services, with strong communication and customer service skills. You should be proficient in computer systems, applications, and mobile devices. A Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Investigation and Enforcement and/or Animal Management) or equivalent experience is required.Pre-Employment Medical & Criminal CheckSuccess depends on passing a pre-employment medical assessment and a Criminal History Check.
