Position Details: Shift: 1st Shift/Part-Time Location: Akron City Hospital Job Summary: Accurately obtain meal orders from patients via phone or assist patients on the nursing unit with computers. Educate patients on their prescribed diets during meal selection. Use the computer to process orders, considering delivery times and kitchen peak periods. Communicate with nursing staff and tray passers regarding patient food and nutrition needs. Minimum Requirements: High school coursework in English, grammar, composition, and basic mathematics. One year of related food service experience. Skills include effective verbal communication, computer proficiency, confidentiality maintenance, promptness in handling transactions, and physical ability to be active on feet, lift, push, and pull objects. Ability to interact respectfully with diverse patient populations, understanding their needs for self-respect and dignity. Physical demands include exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds frequently. Compensation & Benefits: Hourly rate: $16.44 - $19.72.
