About the role We are seeking an Accounts Clerk / Accountant who is a team player, with a can-do attitude and effective communication skills, to join our team. Reporting to the Practice Manager and working closely with our Company Accountant, you will be responsible for accounts procedures. Your major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist with monthly financial reporting, data entry, and reconciliations, producing official letters and reports that are clear, concise, and professionally presented. Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions (accounts payable and receivable) are recorded, with periodic reconciliation and settlement. Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices. Prepare, process, maintain, and record financial information, including invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for reporting purposes. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and other compliance documents to the draft stage. Prepare and reconcile profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports, including the preparation and posting of necessary adjusting journals. Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements and credit card statements. Implement and administer accounting information systems using MYOB software. Prepare and review weekly payrolls, employee benefits, leave provisions accurately and on time, including tax allocations for PAYG. Handle BAS/PAYG reporting and calculations. About the applicant Bachelors degree in business or accounting from a recognised university. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. At least one year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Sound knowledge of business and financial principles. Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
