Your role at St John of God We are currently seeking Casual Administration Assistants to join Patient Administration Services at SJG Bunbury. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing a highly professional standard of reception and a comprehensive admission and clerical support service to hospital clientele, caregivers, and the healthcare team. The role is offered on a casual basis with potential opportunities for permanent roles in the future. The Position: Answer telephone and desk enquiries using a pleasant, courteous, and professional approach, assisting where possible or referring the enquirer to the appropriate caregiver. Welcome patients on admission and provide room orientation as appropriate. Complete all relevant admitting and discharge procedures (including boarders) and complete documentation. Manage all patient health records associated with admissions, transfers, and discharges for the ward or area. Ensure patient health records are accurately collated and returned to the PHIS Department within 24 hours of discharge during weekdays, or as soon as possible on Monday for weekend discharges. Update Patient Administration system data accurately and continuously. The role rotates through Admissions and Reception positions, including occasional after-hours and weekend shifts, with times ranging from 06:00 to 21:00 daily. The successful candidate will have previous administration or reception experience, be well-organized, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy with MS Office and relevant databases is essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
