DescriptionWe are currently seeking expressions of interest for experienced Operations Managers to join the business and play a critical role in leading our team of Area Managers in Outbound operations within our site at Perth.Were seeking experienced, Operations Managers to join our Customer Fulfillment team. Youll operate out of our dynamic Fulfillment Center in Perth, Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Perth FC operations during its phase of expansion and growth, whereby you get to define the process flows and shape up standard work routines before the operations scale up.As an Operations Manager, youll deliver inspiring, inclusive leadership for the teams you supervise. But at the same time, you dont shy away from getting involved whenever necessary.Youll be directly responsible for supervising a team of Area Managers and their direct reports: meanwhile, you will report to the Site Lead of your Fulfillment Center. The quality of your leadership is key to achievement in this role: youll motivate and inspire your teams to do their best work, while planning schedules and activities that balance their needs with that of the business.Another key aspect of your role will be to coordinate on numerous process improvement projects, with the aim of streamlining all activities, both for yourself and the team members you supervise. The ideas, innovation and leaps out of the status quo that you come up with could very well be rolled out across the Amazon network: this immense opportunity is yours for the taking.Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on-site,Become a subject matter expert on specific, larger-scale processes and activities within FCs,In your inventory control and systems environment, youll handle timely data collection, updating operations metrics on an hourly basis,Youll aim to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors and ensure a high-quality customer experience,Work closely with other support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and Security, IT) on staffing plans, schedules and performance levels,Implement process change and contribute in cross-functional Six Sigma initiatives within your site and the broader Amazon Operations network.Please note flexibility is a must for this role as the site operates across 7 days during the day and night.Basic QualificationsPrevious experience in leading large, diverse teams,You possess solid communication skills, both verbal and written,Experience in a similar, innovative logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment,You possess the ability to organize details, establish and carry out root cause analysis, and then extract and analyse the data you generate,You thrive on change,You have excellent written and spoken English.Preferred QualificationsPossess a degree from an accredited institutionMasters in relevant discipline or MBA graduate.Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous.Acknowledgement Of CountryIn the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
