Add expected salary to your profile for insightsOperations Manager required at Pork Storks AustraliaOperations Manager - Pork Storks LethbridgeLethbridge Location, 20-minute drive from GeelongAttractive salary package in accordance with your skills and experienceSenior leadership position within a leading rural veterinary businessAbout us:Pork Storks Australia (PSA), part of Apiam Animal Health, is looking for an Operations Manager, with an animal husbandry or farming background and management experience to join the team based at our Boar Stud in Lethbridge, Victoria.Pork Storks Australia is the leader in pig semen processing and delivery systems in Australia, operating two state-of-the-art pig semen collection facilities that encompass superior health, environmental control and quality management systems.Pork Storks is part of Apiam Animal Health, a leading rural and regional provider of veterinary services across Australia.About the position:Reporting to the Intensives Business Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the stud on a day-to-day basis.Key Responsibilities include:Supervising, assisting, and mentoring the PSA team with a hands-on approach across all operational aspects including auditing, facilities, animal husbandry, semen collection/processing/packaging, and logistics interactions.Assisting in staff recruitment, training, development, and performance reviews.Overseeing tenders, acquisitions, approvals, and ordering of consumables.Liaising with suppliers and contractors regarding equipment maintenance and building concerns.Providing input into financial management, including budget formulation, monthly P&L analysis, and expense approvals.Handling customer queries and resolving issues.Monitoring the dispatch system in collaboration with logistics supervisors.Liaising with vets on boar treatments, vaccinations, and quarantine management.Ensuring compliance with OH&S, building standards, and biosecurity directives.Access to technical and business management mentors and collaboration opportunities with the QLD PSA site.About you:Experience in livestock handling and animal husbandryExperience in the swine industry is advantageousMinimum of 3 years experienceProven staff leadership and management skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and achieve objectives accuratelyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCurrent Australian Drivers licenseEmployee benefits:An attractive salary package aligned with your skills and experiencePhone and Laptop providedCompany uniform providedDiscounts from various retail, travel, fitness, and health providersHow to apply:To join our team, please apply here with your resume and cover letter.
