This position will be emersed in the ecological values that are contained within the landscape of the region including diverse coastal heaths, tall karri forests, open jarrah and wandoo woodlands. This includes the well-known Dentrecasteaux National Park with its extensive remote rugged coastline, wetlands of national and international significance, pristine estuaries and wild rivers. The region is also renown for the rare fauna such as the numbat, woylie, quokka and chuditch plus the huge variety of threatened flora species and communities.Our key service deliverables are nature conservation, parks and visitor services, sustainable forest management, and fire management.We are currently seeking a District Coordinator Conservation to join our team.Under the limited direction of the District Manager, you will:Plan and implement the conservation service in the Donnelly District, through leadership of the conservation team and in liaison with the District Manager, Regional Leader Conservation and the district corporate team.Direct, coordinate, prepare and deliver wildlife conservation plans, threat abatement programs, area management plans and monitoring programs.Contribute through close collaboration with the District Fire Coordinator, to district fire planning including for prescribed burns and provides advice on burning strategies for biodiversity conservation in land management.Provide advice on conservation and wildlife management matters.At DBCA, we have adopted Leadership Expectations which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector.
