Location: MolongDepartment: FinanceCompensation: Weekly AUD $1,310.10 - $1,410.90Employment type: Full-TimeCabonne Council has an exciting opportunity to for an enthusiastic finance professional to join the Finance team as the Payroll Officer.This position is responsible for providing an efficient and accurate payroll service to Council and its staff.This role is a full-time role, based out of the Molong office.Working for Cabonne Council provides a rewarding opportunity to work for and in a close-knit community, providing flexibility for the perfect work/life balance and career development opportunities. The position operates over a 35-hour week with a 9-day fortnight.For more detail on the jobs duties and responsibilities please refer to the attached position description.QualificationsClass C drivers licence.Criminal History Check.Relevant industry qualifications.Skills & ExperienceAt least two years experience in a similar role, with:Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in applying and interpreting industrial awards and agreements, legislation and procedures.Experience and ability in general accounting practices.Demonstrated Experience and knowledge in the functions of payroll.Knowledge and experience in taxation and superannuation laws and referencing.Sound communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels and other associated customers.Intermediate level operation of Microsoft Word and excel with the ability to prepare pivot tables each fortnight of Council''s wages data.Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality.Highly systematic and organised approach to work with strong prioritisation and time management skills.Remuneration and BenefitsThe appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023 and Cabonne Councils policies and conditions of employment.The position is a grade 7 in Council''s salary system with a weekly gross wage range of $1310.10 to $1410.90 dependant on qualifications and experienceBenefits of working at Council includeAt Cabonne Council we recognise our current and future employees want to work in an organisation that provides more than just a job.
