Events & Business Relationship Support OfficerBand 5 - $71,444 per annum + 11.5% superannuationAbout Us:The Strathbogie Shire is a vibrant and progressive rural municipality located about two hours from the Melbourne CBD along the Hume Highway. We have diverse and picturesque communities served by townships such as Euroa, Nagambie, Violet Town, Avenel, Longwood, Ruffy and Strathbogie.The role:This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to utilise their event management experience by providing guidance and support to community events.The Events & Business Relationship Support Officer will manage the review and approval process for events within the Strathbogie Shire and work closely with community event organisers to understand their responsibilities and navigate compliance requirements.In addition, this role will assist with the design, delivery and analysis of post event debriefs and evaluations.Key responsibilities:Lead the relationship with Councils preferred event management software provider to ensure software continues to meet and grow with Councils needs.Support skills development, knowledge sharing, and innovation throughout the community via workshops and tools development in the events and tourism sector.Assist the Visitor Economy and Events Coordinator with key events and operations at the Nagambie Lakes Regatta Centre, and at locations across the Shire as required.Assist with pre and post event management services for Councils hallmark events.Knowledge and experience within Event Management.Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills.Knowledge of risk assessments and emergency procedures.Ability to work cooperatively and relate professionally and enthusiastically to a diverse range of people, both externally and internally.Why you will love working at Strathbogie Shire Council.We understand the need for flexibility and can offer:Negotiated hybrid working arrangements up to 40% working from home.Option for working more hours over less days (e.g., 9-day fortnight).Negotiated start and finish times.Negotiated work sites.We have generous leave entitlements including:3 additional days of Family Care Leave per year to support caring requirements.3 days paid leave during Christmas closure.Long service leave available pro rata after five years, and transferable across local government organisations.Up to 10 days unpaid leave per year for Cultural and Ceremonial Leave.Up to 20 days of paid Family Violence Leave annually.Parental Leave 16 weeks of paid leave for primary carer and 2 weeks for secondary carer, with option to be taken a half pay.We value your health and wellbeing and offer:Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Income Protection Scheme for all employees.Weekly onsite visits for treatment of soft tissue injuries.Access to Local Government Employees Health Plan.We encourage professional development and learning opportunities including:Support to study with a repayment plan via payroll deductions.Access to study leave.On the job training.And the bonuses:Annual pay increases in line with our Enterprise Agreement.17.5% Leave Loading paid annually as a lump sum Christmas bonus.Recognition awards for years of service.For further information about this position, please contact Kate McKernan, Manager Community & Culture on 5795 0000 .Please apply through our website at Careers at Council | Strathbogie Shire and complete an online application form.
