Join to apply for the Senior Analyst, Technical Accounting role at Covetrus. Key Responsibilities: Research, evaluate, and document complex accounting topics, such as revenue recognition, software capitalization, debt, derivatives, investments, goodwill, intangible assets, and business combinations. Support the review of contracts by partnering with business and legal teams to ensure accounting considerations are addressed early and transactions are structured to achieve both business objectives and GAAP compliance. Develop well-supported, timely accounting memos on complex accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. Monitor regulatory and industry changes to ensure compliance and advise on their impact. Maintain effective internal controls over assigned accounting processes. Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A supporting workpapers. Assess and document accounting implications for new transactions, contracts, and business models. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies to ensure consistent application across the company. Drive process improvements by leveraging technology and automation. Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, business leaders, and senior management to ensure timely communication of critical issues. Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed. Qualifications and Skillsets: Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA required; MBA a plus. 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, including public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm required). Proven expertise in reviewing contracts, researching complex accounting issues, and drafting technical memos. Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and reporting requirements. Excellent communication skills for explaining complex accounting concepts. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities. Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities. Ability to collaborate across departments and levels, building effective relationships.
