The role also has important responsibilities with our auditors, banks and regulatory bodies. Continuous improvement and financial analysis are key expectations of the role.Budgeting and Forecasting:Support the Director of Finance in developing budgets and forecasts to guide planning and resource allocation.Lead quarterly account review meetings with senior management to explain budget variances.Reporting:Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports for SCHF and Hospitals United for Sick Kids, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, pledge register, and reserve requirements.Maintain daily cash flow forecasts and advise on bank and investment transfers.Back-up for Network Contribution reports and assist with annual external financial statementsAnalyse financial performance, costs, profitability, and trends. Identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements and evaluate the financial impact of business decisions.Reconciliation and Account Maintenance:Manage end-of-month processes, including monthly timetable, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.Compliance and Risk Management:Manage tax compliance (BAS, FBT), support external audits, and ensure adherence to accounting standards. Understand SCHF operations to apply accounting practices effectively and support risk and WHS management.Strategic and Business Planning:Contribute to SCHF''s strategic and business planning activities within areas of responsibility.Business Improvement:Support continuous improvement within the Finance team. Ensure policy compliance and drive enhancements to financial processes and systems for better efficiency and reporting accuracy.Leadership:Support the professional growth of direct reports through coaching, guidance, and regular performance evaluations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and a strong customer focus, reflecting SCHFs vision, purpose, and values.Engage actively in team and one-on-one meetings, including performance reviews, goal setting, and regular check-ins, completing all reviews on time.Take ownership of personal development by identifying and pursuing training opportunities, with your managers support.Qualifications & Experience:Degree in Business or AccountingMember or associated member of CA or CPA or equivalent is preferred5 plus years-experience in a similar finance positionDetail-oriented and analytical professional with strong problem-solving, time management, and prioritisation skills.Must have excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including explaining financial data to non-financial stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and knowledge of accounting standards are desirable.Responsibilities include monthly financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, and variance analysis) and identifying trends and improvement areas.Ready to join a passionate team that makes a real impact on children''s health?
