Gippslands leading vocational educatorRewarding role that has a meaningful impactPart time fixed term role (0.6FTE 0.8FTE for 12 months)Campus negotiableAbout the Role:In this pivotal role, you will be the central point of expertise for child safety across TAFE Gippsland. This work will significantly influence how child safety is understood, implemented, and continuously improved throughout the organisation. You will take the lead in managing child safety reports and concerns, conducting thorough investigations, and ensuring appropriate actions and supports are in place. Your responsibilities will also include developing and maintaining robust policies, procedures, and training programs that build awareness and compliance with the Child Safe Standards and relevant legislation. Working closely with staff, students, and external agencies, youll help foster a culture that prioritises the rights, safety, inclusion, and empowerment of all children and young people in our care.What Youll Do:Act as the designated lead for Child Safe Standards implementation and continuous improvement.Conduct end-to-end investigations and manage all child safety concerns and reports.Lead organisation-wide training, policy development, and cultural initiatives.Provide strategic advice to leadership and collaborate across departments to uplift institutional capability in child safety.Partner with regulatory bodies, student families, and community stakeholders.About You:You are a confident, skilled professional with:A relevant qualification in social work, psychology, youth work, education, or similar.In-depth knowledge of Child Safe Standards and related legislation (e.g. Child Wellbeing and Safety Amendment Act 2021).Demonstrated experience leading child safety investigations and providing expert guidance on complex cases.A proven ability to work with diverse communities including Indigenous, CALD, LGBTQIA+, and people living with disability.Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and policy development skills.Why Work With Us?Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people and the broader community.Join a values-led organisation committed to inclusion and cultural transformation.Work in a supportive, collaborative environment with flexible campus locations.Mandatory Requirements:Valid Working with Children CheckNational Police Check (less than 12 months old)Current Drivers LicenceFlexible Working ArrangementsAccess to Employee Wellbeing ProgramFitness Passport Gym & Pool MembershipsAn idyllic regional settingAbout UsFor over 95 years, TAFE Gippsland has been at the forefront of vocational education and training, proudly serving the Gippsland community.
