We trust our people to work effectively in new ways because our business is our people.Primary Responsibility:The Security & Facilities Manager, as the company''s recognised Security Officer (SO), ensures compliance with Australian Government requirements for protecting classified material, in accordance with the Defence Security Principles Framework and our obligations as a Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) member. This involves managing personnel, facility, and security system requirements, and maintaining governance systems to uphold our status as a trusted Defence supplier.The role includes developing, planning, and executing a security strategy aligned with the company''s broader business goals, with a focus on DISP compliance to ensure the effectiveness of our systems.The Security & Facilities Manager will also develop, mentor, and manage security and facilities personnel, participate in hiring, retention, performance feedback, and career development.This role may require attending security call-outs, responding to out-of-hours facility security issues, and domestic travel to other facilities or offices.Key Responsibilities:Implement and oversee all security measures for classified material under Ultra control.Provide security advice to management and staff per the Defence Security Protective Framework (DSPF).Develop, implement, and review security policies, procedures, and plans to meet DSPF obligations, maintaining at least Level 2 DISP membership.Conduct security risk assessments and maintain the Security Register (SR).Ensure ongoing accreditation of facilities from Zone 2 to Zone 5.Manage bilateral security agreements, communication security (COMSEC) assets, and facilitate security clearances.Develop and deliver security education and awareness programs.Handle security incidents, foreign contact reports, and security clearances for visits.Advise on Security Classification and Categorisation Guide (SCCG).Liaise with Defence and government stakeholders; provide security reports and updates to senior management.Facilities Management:Oversee facility maintenance, safety, and compliance.Promote a safe, sustainable, and efficient working environment.Support budget and strategic planning with facility inputs.Ensure asset data accuracy and compliance.Personal Attributes:Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Problem-solving ability and collaborative approach.Leadership qualities that foster a proactive security culture.Experience:Senior Defence security experience or related roles.Familiarity with Australian Defence security processes and DSPF.Experience working with the Australian Department of Defence.Qualifications:Post-secondary qualification in security or relevant discipline.Why work for Ultra Maritime?9-day fortnight, additional leave options.Employee assistance and wellbeing programs.On-site parking, free beverages, and more.Application Process:Click Apply and submit your resume and cover letter detailing your relevant experience.#MARNationality RequirementsThe successful candidate must be eligible for an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level.Diversity & Inclusion:Ultra Maritime values diversity, inclusion, and equality, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds and cultures.
