In its role, GRNSW promotes the exciting racing aspect of the industry, as well as the equally important rehoming of our athletes.About the role!We are seeking a passionate and driven Chief Welfare Officer to lead and deliver the operational strategy in line with the GRNSW Strategic Plan. This role will ensure excellence in welfare, education, rehoming, and adoption services while staying responsive to the evolving needs of the industry. The CWO will manage key welfare programs, provide strategic leadership across the organisation, and work collaboratively to ensure the integrity and success of the greyhound racing industry in NSW.About the responsibilities:Lead the execution of welfare, education, and rehoming programs, including racing injury research, data analytics, Participant Support Program, and Greyhound Care Scheme.Oversee injury rebate schemes, Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) Rehoming, and Overseas Rehoming Programs to ensure effective operations and continuous improvement.Work with the CEO and Executive Team to define and execute the strategic direction for greyhound racing in NSW.Engage the Senior Leadership Team in strategic planning and align resources, policies, and budgets with the organisations goals.Manage resources, budgets, and staffing effectively to maximise operational performance and achieve welfare goals.Ensure compliance with welfare standards and regulations, maintaining the highest quality of care and operational integrity.Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welfare practices and organisational efficiency.Cultivate positive relationships with key stakeholders, including government, animal welfare groups, and industry bodies.Represent GRNSW externally, particularly in the NSW Animal Welfare Committee and other key forums, advocating for greyhound welfare.Promote greyhound rehoming through targeted marketing and awareness campaigns, ensuring positive public engagement.Lead risk management processes, identifying and mitigating risks to greyhound welfare while ensuring safety and sustainability.Ensure adherence to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles in all welfare and operational activities.Regularly review and improve welfare programs to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the industry and stakeholders.Provide leadership and expertise to drive the organisations capacity for long-term, sustainable growth in greyhound welfare.About our Perks!Christmas holiday shutdown period for two weeks.5 for 4 weeks Annual Leave initiative.
