Reporting to the Director, Special Projects, the role is responsible for securing regulatory environmental approvals for Wyloo''s projects, including our Kambalda nickel assets and other development projects, by leveraging productive government and other relevant stakeholder relationships and ensuring high-quality submissions.This role requires demonstrated management capabilities and proven success in engaging with relevant State and Federal government departments, managing technical programs and management of consultants, contractors and multi-disciplinary teams. Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills will be coupled with your ability to actively engage, motivate and effectively influence at all levels of the organisation and a wide range of external stakeholders to achieve and drive results.This role is best suited to a natural leader who is solutions-oriented and self-motivated, providing leadership and business support to all areas of our business.DutiesDevelop and maintain regulatory relationships that assist Wyloo in maintaining its environmental license to operate.Identify and obtain all project tenure and environmental approvals for new greenfield and growth projects within the Wyloo project portfolio.Identify and implement suitable opportunities to continuously improve and minimise impacts to the environment that meet or exceed the community and native title holders'' expectations.Work collaboratively with Wyloo''s Asset Presidents, including Corporate Services and Corporate Development to deliver positive environmental and reputational benefits for the business.Lead and develop the overarching corporate environmental management system.Ensure all of Wyloo''s environmental reporting obligations are met.Manage allocated budget in line with approval limits and workstreams.Provide advice to the business on environmental approval requirements. This will mean building a detailed understanding of the relevant project teams'' deliverables and providing advice to achieve desired outcomes.Work with Wyloo''s preferred consultants to undertake environmental risk assessments; define the project development footprint; and all other required information to enable Works Approval applications and other licences to be successfully submitted.Facilitate and manage environmental surveys and field activities.Identify and liaise with Traditional Owners and other key stakeholders in relation to environmental approval matters.Ensure the business understands the obligations created by its environmental approvals.Develop and implement systems to monitor and report against our environmental licence conditions.Ensure the company maintains a functional ground disturbance permit system and all ground disturbance is compliant with its regulatory approvals and heritage conditions.Ensure all environmental regulatory reporting is completed to a high standard and lodged within required timeframes.Provide strategic advice to the business to achieve required outcomes in a timely manner and as per relevant legislative requirements and regulatory guidelines.Maintain understanding of regulatory approval processes and the changing regulatory environment/legislation.Access agreementsCollaborate with internal stakeholders to assist with securing all necessary access agreements to support Wyloo''s projects and operational goals.Facilitate engagement with Traditional Owners and First Nation groups to obtain Heritage Access Agreements to allow exploration activities to be conducted.Coordinate and participate in negotiations of Native Title Mining Agreements to allow mining activities to occur.Engage with pastoralists or other relevant landowners to facilitate required access for exploration or mining activities.Oversee and manage the negotiation and maintenance of agreements relating to private land access.Ensure all environmental and access tenement obligations are tracked and compliance maintained.RelationshipsEstablish strong working relationships with the executive management team, business leaders and project team stakeholders.Actively engage and collaborate with other team members and support them in achieving the company''s objectives.Maintain high standards of reporting to the Executive and/or Senior Leadership Teams and Wyloo''s Board on a routine basis and where otherwise requested.Develop and maintain key relationships with government agencies, contractors, and consultants.Leverage relationships appropriately to seek favourable regulatory approval outcomes.Develop and build Wyloo''s reputation within the regulatory agencies.Commitment to purposeDeliver on responsibilities in a manner that achieves outcomes and demonstrates Wyloo''s Values.Ensure work contributes to Wyloo''s strategy and commitment.Ways of workingContribute to the development of health and safety governance with the Wyloo team to appropriately manage and mitigate material risks.Ensure personal compliance and reporting standards are maintained in accordance with all WHS policies and procedures.About YouYou:Have a degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or other relevant field;Have at least 5 years'' experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining sector;Have a proven track record in securing state and federal environmental approvals for significant projects;Have experience working in project management teams and with environmental management systems;Are a solutions-oriented, motivated team member who will possess an abundance of positivity, initiative, and a passion for embracing our philosophy and living our values;Have a hands-on, practical mindset and willingness to roll up your sleeves and take ownership of your work (especially given small team size);Are able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; andHave excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Next StepsPlease attach your resume and a cover letter explaining why you are interested in taking up this opportunity and joining the Wyloo team!Wyloo embraces equal opportunity and promotes diversity & inclusion.
