As a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike, we pride ourselves on high-quality food and beverages, along with exceptional customer service.Occupation TasksOrganize and control restaurant operations to provide excellent dining experiences.Plan and coordinate daily operations of a cafe, restaurant, or related establishment.Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.Oversee food and beverage preparation and presentation to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.Manage budgets and financial transactions, including cash handling and reporting.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.Skills & ExperienceLeadershipResponsible for recruiting restaurant and bar staff, including advertising, interviewing, and offering employment.Onboard and train new recruits.Identify potential and create development plans for staff success.Allocate tasks per shift, coordinate breaks, and provide regular feedback.Maintain operational efficiency through regular communication with shift managers and supervisors.Motivate and lead by example.Hold staff accountable and foster a positive team environment.Financial1 to 5 years of hospitality management experience.Achieve budget targets and prepare weekly/monthly financial forecasts.Implement strategies to improve gross profit on food and beverages.Review and negotiate supplier contracts to optimize outcomes.Create staff rosters within budget, manage stock and wastage, and handle financial reporting.GeneralMaintain a well-presented, clean, and hygienic venue.Ensure sufficient stock and resources.Contribute to marketing and social media efforts as directed.Build rapport with customers, especially locals.Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and facilitate teamwork.Operate POS systems effectively.Perform additional duties as required.Compliance RequirementsOversee food safety standards and implementation.Maintain equipment and workplace safety, reporting hazards promptly.Comply with WHS and RSA legislation.Follow Embers policies and procedures.Create a harassment, bullying, and discrimination-free workplace.Core BehavioursResults-driven and continuously seeking to improve venue offerings.Strong team-building skills and positive attitude.Ability to build rapport with customers, especially locals.Work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with quick thinking.Passion for delivering excellent customer experiences.QualificationsCertificate 3 in Hospitality.Certificate 4/5 (beneficial).Level 1 Sommelier accreditation (beneficial).You must be in Australia and authorized to work.
