Add expected salary to your profile for insights. The General Manager reports to the Aus SPF Board of four Directors and requires a close working relationship with the Director of Operations. The business has been operating under current ownership since 2006. You will be part of embedding a Quality Management System that has been expanded over the past 18 months. Aus SPF has the highest Biosecurity requirements including: Showering onto and off the farm and HEPA air supplied sheds. All new clothing laundered on site. Staff cannot have any avian species (poultry or birds) at home. Biosecurity procedures are of the highest standard. EP 5.2.2 and WOAH standards and compliance must be met. Audited by DAFF on a yearly basis and by customers every 3 years. Key responsibilities The primary responsibility is to achieve maximum productivity of disease-free (SPF - specific pathogen free) fertile eggs by ensuring a well-trained workforce focused on written procedures through a quality management system. Skills & experience Extensive poultry farming technical skills in breeders and ideally hatcheries. Ability to adapt to the most rigorous biosecurity procedures to maintain SPF status and meet global biosecurity and regulatory standards. Exceptional managerial and communication skills (planning, leading, organising & controlling various aspects of the business). High-level written and verbal skills (ideally tertiary education qualified). Company car provided. Two farming sites located in picturesque rural areas: Lancefield & Woodend (each about 1 hour from Melbourne). Well supported by experienced senior management.
