Manager Contracts - Civil EngineeringInfrastructure ServicesPermanent Full TimeHervey BayIFA 8 | $145,658 per annum plus superannuation + up to 10% attraction / retention bonus+ $6,000 relocation bonus for approved candidates+ private use vehicle+ 5 days recreational leaveAt Fraser Coast Regional Council our people are our most important asset and central to achieving our vision to Build Better Communities.About The RoleThe Manager Contracts will play a pivotal role in overseeing the procurement, contract management, and vendor management for key infrastructure projects within the Fraser Coast region.This position requires a dynamic individual with strong expertise in managing multi-million-dollar contracts, specifically for transport-related infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and stormwater upgrades.The successful candidate will contribute directly to the growth of the Fraser Coast community by ensuring the effective delivery of essential infrastructure that supports long-term regional development. With an annual portfolio of approximately $40 million in contract values, the role will require a mix of strategic oversight and practical involvement in contract delivery.Please click here to view a full Position Description.What Your Day Will Look LikeImplement and manage procedures for effective project and contract management concerning externally delivered works.Prepare and manage contract documentation for both maintenance and construction works, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, and legislation.Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of civil construction contracting, ensuring that construction risks are identified and mitigated during the contracting process.Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholdersAssist with financial planning, modelling, and budgeting advicePrepare and submit expenditure and progress reports on projectsProvide assistance preparing grant submissions for infrastructure projects.Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge on best practices in contract administration and project management.To Be Successful, Youll Need Experience InDemonstrated ability to effectively coordinate a team delivering in the delivery of Contract Management Services within the Transport sector.Demonstrated technical report writing skills including the ability to develop tender documentation and project specifications in accordance with industry best practices.Proven ability delivering civil infrastructure projects including the review of civil design drawings, identification of constructability concerns and risks, and modern project management practices.Demonstrated dispute resolution skills including experience in successfully managing contractual disputes.Outstanding customer service skills including the ability to relate at the appropriate level to internal and external stakeholders including staff, contractors, and community representatives.Demonstrated understanding of legislation as it applies to the civil construction sector, including Austroads and Queensland Transport and Main Road design standards.Qualifications & LicencesDegree (AQF Level 7 or higher) in Civil Engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia)Construction White CardCurrent QLD Class C Driver''s LicenceWhats Nice To HaveRegistration with Queensland Board of Professional Engineers (RPEQ)Benefits Of Working With CouncilCommitted to providing quality services to our community, we strongly support an inclusive and values driven culture, recognising your individual skills, knowledge and talent.
