Cadia produces gold dor bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The Orange region is often referred to as the gateway to Country New South Wales with acclaimed wineries, fine dining, annual festivals and charming heritage villages making for an unparalleled work-life balance.Who were looking forReporting to the Supervisor, Plant Metallurgy, the Plant Metallurgist is Responsible for managing the metallurgical performance of Con 1 Grinding, from the coarse ore stockpile to primary cyclone overflow. The role will monitor current operational performance and address metallurgical issues and provide recommendations for future operational, metallurgical & safety improvements.Key responsibilities:Develop detailed understanding of the process flow sheet and operation of Con 1 Grinding, assist with daily troubleshooting and optimisation of the grinding circuit.Assist with planning & delivery of budget revenue by meeting or exceeding Cadia Ore Processing production targets.Assist with minimising the Cadia Ore Processing cost base by strategically minimising consumables and grinding media consumption. Maintain discipline by accurate reporting of consumption rates monthly.Ownership of the liner design and procurement process for all Con 1 grinding mills.Support accuracy and reliability of plant instruments for process and metallurgical accounting.Review daily time loss allocations for accuracyCoordinate site visits from suppliers and consultants to ensure operation of Con 1 Grinding meets best metallurgical and operational practice.Complete daily metallurgical accounting duties as required and complete plant forecast physicals as required.An active involvement in processing plant commissioning tasks, providing robust product for the operating team and delivering on expected performance gains. This involves project and people management duties across different departments and stakeholders both internal and external.Identification and rapid implementation of improvement opportunities, actively seeking opportunities for increased free cash flow and reduced costs.
