The role requires an individual with a proven history and track record of collaborative delivery, strategy development and expertise to engage with senior leadership across a wide range of research organisations and industry.The responsibilities of the Senior Scientific and Policy Advisor, mRNA Victoria will include:Supporting in development and delivery of strategic plans, policies and corporate objectives.Providing high level strategic and expert advice to senior executives both internal and external to government on mRNA research initiatives and industry capability, major emerging issues, trends and strategic opportunities, risks and potential interventions.Fostering strong working relationships and work collaboratively with a small team providing leadership through advanced expertise to support policy research and analysis and program design and delivery.The TeamThe position of Senior Scientific and Policy Advisor, mRNA Victoria forms a part of mRNA Victoria within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.The Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria''s international competitiveness. mRNA Victoria is leading the Victorian Government''s commitment to delivering a world-class Australian mRNA vaccine and therapeutic industry by supporting supply chain initiatives, research and development, translation and commercialisation, and global clinical scale and commercial scale manufacturing investments.About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:Experience in or demonstrated expertise and understanding of the life sciences and/or biopharmaceuticals industry including in relation to translation, commercialisation, innovation, and manufacturing. Direct knowledge and experience of the RNA industry an advantage.Excellent public policy knowledge and skills, and ability to use conceptual thinking and sound analytical approaches to lead strategy development and decision making.
