Reporting to the Senior Inspector, the Maintenance Worker / Inspector will be responsible for both civil asset maintenance activities, and the inspection and logging of defects.The role offers a variety of work within the incumbents nominated geographical area, as a result the role will involve a great deal of driving. The role would best suit a person who enjoys both driving and physical work and who is capable and comfortable working with technology in a team environment. The role would best suit a person who prioritises safety and who enjoys a fast paced, friendly, and positive workplace environments.To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be able to satisfy the following mandatory selection criteria (applicants who can also demonstrate the desirable criteria would be highly regarded) MandatoryGeneral Safety Induction White CardA Traffic Management / Control ticket compliant with current AustRoads standardsConfidence and competence working with mobile digital devices and platformsHighly developed attention to detail, organisational, time management, and accuracy skillsStrong understanding of civil and safety principles and practicesProven ability to manage multiple tasks / functions in a timely and accurate mannerDemonstrated problem solving and decision-making skillsCompetent written and verbal communication skillsA current Australian Drivers License C (Car)A current First Aid and/or CPR ticketAn Australian Resident or hold an Australian Working VISA with rights to workPrevious experience in the civil asset construction and maintenance industryHeavy Combination (HC) or Medium Combination (MC) LicenceExperience identifying and fixing defects on roadsAbout youYou will have a personable demeaner, with a hands-on approach and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a great deal of variety. You will have an extremely high attention to detail and enjoy being on the road and out in the field completing a variety of tasks.Proficient with digital devices and applications, with the capability and confidence to communicate effectively, efficiently, and professionally with a diverse workforce in either written or verbal format. You enjoy working within a team environment and can confidently manage your own tasks and priorities whist being able to identify and communicate any supports required.You are safety focused with a good driving record and take pride in your work; you always ensure your equipment is kept in good condition and possess a strong desire to learn and develop your skills further. You embrace change and thrive in an environment that encourages open, honest, and respectful feedback.
