About the opportunity This is a high-level advisor role focused on cultural safety, workforce strategy, and governance, ensuring that policies, leadership, and organisational culture reflect Aboriginal perspectives. This is an exciting role that will ensure greater alignment with national reconciliation and employment goals, while advancing the organisation''s broader strategic objectives of equity, inclusion, and belonging. Support the Health Services Leadership team and Mercy Health to build a culture committed to reconciliationProvide expert advice, leadership and an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective and lead the provision of cultural and policy advice to enable the delivery of Mercy Health strategic outcomesAdvocate and influence internally and externally to ensure that First Nations employee, patient and community voice is at the heart of Mercy Health''s policy makingBe accountable for developing innovative models of workingWork with key stakeholders to increase First Nations representation and foster partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and play an active role in our approach to ReconciliationA key goal of this role is to significantly increase the number of First Nations staff working in Mercy Health ServicesWhat you''ll bring You''re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. To thrive in this role, you will; Be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, identify as Aboriginal and be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have previously livedHave senior level experience and demonstrated success in inspiring cultural change within a team or organisationHave proven ability to work effectively with diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and effectively represent the organisation on key First Nations issues and discussions.Have demonstrated expertise in Reconciliation and culturally safe service provision in health and/or community service organisationsHave sound knowledge of Aboriginal culture and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples / communities and organisationsYou will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
