About The FacilityOur major sites include University Hospital Geelong, the McKellar Centre in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and various residential aged care facilities. We deliver mental health, community health, and dental services through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. Supported by volunteers, we aim to expand our programs and services, enhancing the healthcare experience through social, emotional, and recreational support. About The RoleVolunteers are valued members of our team, providing friendly support across different settings. Roles include hospital-based positions such as Concierge and Cancer Services, as well as on-road roles like Volunteer Patient Transport. Opportunities also exist in Palliative Care and Aged Care programs, where volunteers assist with activities like woodwork, art, gardening, companionship, and sharing interests such as reading and language. We offer comprehensive training and induction programs tailored to each role. Volunteers are expected to commit for 12 months, with most roles involving a weekly shift of four to six hours.
