Offering a range of logistics services from warehousing, contract logistics, linehaul, intermodal transport, global freight forwarding and bulk logistics, we do logistics differently.TheOpportunity:We currently have a great opportunity for a proactive, experienced and passionate Despatch Manager to join our team at Smithfield. Reporting to the State Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Despatch at the Smithfield Warehouse and leading a team of 12. You will be continuously looking to improve where you can, to drive efficiency, compliance, quality and control costs against the set budget to maximize business profitability.Currently we are using a Manual Despatch System however, we will be transitioning to a Warehouse Management System.What you will do:Initiate and drive a safe workplace including following all safety policies and regulationsManagement and co-ordinate Despatch and Contractors to achieve distribution KPIs for the site (Safety/DIFOT/Quality/Sales/Volume/Freight Utilisation)Actively develop and upskill your team including identifying any cross training or development opportunitiesManagement of stock and assets including maintenancePallet control management and other assets [pallet tops]Develop improvement processes and ensure established processes are maintained to meet compliance and quality targetsEnsure compliance and legislation around chain of responsibility is adhered toWhat you will bring:3-5 years experience in a leadership role within Supply Chain/Logistics role (preferably within the FMCG, Manufacturing or Processing industries)Experience across all despatch functions including allocating, scheduling, goods receipting, stock management, logistics management with 3PL including COR and Fatigue ManagementProficient in Microsoft Office, SAP (advantageous)Strong organisation, attention to detail and able to think on your feetHigh communications skills to manage both internal and external relationships to drive DIFOT outcomes for our customersAbility to work in a fast paced environment with a focus on safety, customer service and innovationGood with reporting to increase and sustain the businesss profitabilityA fun, hands on leader, who is self-motivated with energy, passion and a positive mindsetExcellent work ethic and dedicated to succeed to get the job doneWhat you will love:Sustainability: Contribute to sustainability initiatives that make a difference.Supportive Environment: Be part of a team that values safety, respect, and collaboration.Career Growth: Opportunity to kick start your career, 6-month contract perfect for building your resumeWork life Balance: Enjoy great hours & location to help you balance your professional and personal lifeYou will be required to meet Visys employment criteria which will include a criminal history check.Please note that only applications with the right to live and work in Australia will be considered for this position.Advertised: 01 May 2025 AUS Eastern Standard TimeApplications close: #J-18808-Ljbffr
