And now, were seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our team.THE ROLEJD Sports is on the lookout for a passionate Merchandiser to join us on a 12-month maternity leave cover. This role will ensure our stores have the right stock at the right time and is responsible for delivering sales, markdown, stock, intake, and profit plans. By using data-driven insights, you''ll optimise product distribution, drive sales performance, and maximise profitability.Reporting into the Senior Merchandiser, this role will be responsible for, but not limited to:Planning DutiesIn partnership with the Buyer, review previous season and capture lessons learnedIn partnership with the Buyer, create the merchandise strategy for the department and presentApprove the proposed grading from the trading Merchandiser for input into the assortment planning processQuarterly plan at Category/Sub Class/Brand level with the Buyer to submit a plan on the System that reflects the best possible mix of product to deliver the KPIsAttend selection/pre-selection meetings with the Buyer and suppliersPlan the pre-scheduling of store allocations and orders to meet the range plan in conjunction with Assistant MerchandisersOverview the size ratios for all buys in conjunction with Assistant MerchandiserEnsure that the Buy matches the plan BuyBe responsible for the pushing of the business forward through proposing new ways of working and planning and be the driving force in implementingTrading DutiesReview weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs, identifying Issues and the course of action in preparation for the weekly trading meetingsPropose and agree actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities with the Buyer at category and line levelReview store stock imbalances with recommendations to resolveEnsure DC stock is flowing to stores in a timely mannerEnsure product is ranged online and is adequately stocked and supportedMonthly - Capture all agreed actions in the monthly forecast reviewsMeet and gain approval: IncorporatingForecasting any sales variance to planCreation of OTBsManagement of commitments- On time delivery, rebuys cancellationsMarkdown proposalsReview and Approve refill ordersReview orderbook and recommend reflow and cancel requirements actionsCreate and Manage/monitor sell out dates against all productsManage Intake at category and line levelTeamworkLead the Merchandise team to ensure all tasks required are completed to a high standard, while maintaining a positive working atmosphereGuide and direct the Merchandising Team to help deliver the planEstablish working relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, Finance and DC to ensure maximum profit is madeEstablish working relationships with suppliersWHO YOU AREMinimum 2-3 years experience in a Merchandise Planning role within retailAdvanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skillsExperience working with inventory managementUnderstanding of sales & profit growthStrong internal and external stakeholder management skillsWHATS IN IT FOR YOU?Monthly culture committee eventsCentral CBD locationPre-pay day lunchesBirthday leaveCompetitive SalaryOne month paid parental leaveReferral bonus schemeTraining and development to evolve and shape your careerOpportunity to progress across all areas of the business including Retail, Support Office and our Distribution CentreTreat yourself with our attractive staff discount!
