Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers an unforgettable luxury escape, where guests discover the perfect blend of French Zest and Sofitel luxury.Following the successful relaunch and transformation of Sydneys landmark, we are setting a new benchmark for excellence.Why Sofitel Sydney Wentworth?Ideally situated in the heart of central Sydneys business and shopping districts, with easy access to public transport (trains, buses, ferries, light rail).Enjoy industry-wide benefits on parking, accommodation, dining, and lifestyle services from day one.Enhanced parental leave program.Job DescriptionProvide painting services to the highest quality standards as required.Liaise with departments and the Assistant Chief Engineer regarding work requirements.Plan and prioritize jobs to meet deadlines and handle emergencies appropriately.Support other areas when needed to cover absences.Work collaboratively with all hotel staff.Attend training programs as required.Complete daily painting maintenance and repairs, including tasks reported from guest rooms and departments.Perform alterations throughout the hotel/resort, including glazing (replacing broken windowpanes), tiling (re-grouting shower recesses), and installing or repairing fittings (sliding doors, fly screens, curtain rods, etc.).Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by hotel departments to ensure functionality.Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruptions.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during maintenance tasks.QualificationsProven experience in painting, tiling, glazing, and general maintenance, preferably in hospitality or facilities management.Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and relevant tools and materials.Competency in repairs and installations, including carpentry and basic repairs.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues efficiently.Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and commitment to safe work practices.Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and respond to emergencies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to support various maintenance functions and adapt to changing priorities.Trade qualification or relevant certification in painting, building maintenance, or related field (preferred).Additional InformationJoining our team unlocks generous benefits including accommodation, dining, travel, wellbeing, and more, starting from Day 1.
