Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers an unforgettable luxury escape, where guests discover the perfect blend of the French Zest and Sofitel luxury.Following the successful relaunch and transformation of Sydneys landmark, we are setting a new benchmark for excellence.Why Sofitel Sydney Wentworth?Ideally situated in the heart of central Sydneys business and shopping districts, close to all public transport routes (trains, buses, ferries, and light rail).Industry benefits available worldwide on parking, accommodation, dining, and lifestyle services from day one.Enhanced parental leave program.Job DescriptionProvide painting services to the highest quality standards as required.Coordinate with departments and the Assistant Chief Engineer regarding work requirements.Plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and handle emergencies appropriately.Support other areas when needed to cover absences.Collaborate harmoniously with all hotel staff.Attend training programs as required.Perform daily painting maintenance and repairs, including work reported from guest rooms, departments, and Duty Managers.Carry out alterations throughout the hotel/resort complex.Replace broken windowpanes (glazing).Re-grout shower recesses and perform tiling work.Repair and install internal and external fittings such as sliding doors, fly screens, curtain rods, drawers, cupboard doors, locks, etc.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by hotel departments to ensure functionality.Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruptions.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during maintenance tasks.QualificationsProven experience in painting, tiling, glazing, and general maintenance, preferably in hospitality or facilities management.Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and relevant tools and materials.Competency in repair and installation tasks, including carpentry and fitting work.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues efficiently.Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations and commitment to safe practices.Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and respond to emergencies.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to support various maintenance functions and adapt to changing priorities.Trade qualification or relevant certification in painting, building maintenance, or related field (preferred).Additional InformationJoining our team unlocks generous local, national, and international industry benefits on accommodation, dining, travel, wellbeing, and more from Day 1.
