Job DescriptionOnline Engagement LibrarianReference number: 10638Closing date: 11:00pm, 13 June 2025Full-Time Temporary position until 28 August 2026.Salary of $82,635.66 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.Library Band 5.The OpportunityMoonee Valley Libraries is seeking a forward-thinking, digitally-savvy Online Engagement Librarian to join our team. If you''re passionate about online communication, community access, and public libraries, this is your opportunity to help shape and lead our library''s digital presence.Youll be at the forefront of enhancing how we engage with our community onlinedeveloping vibrant content, managing our website and social media channels, and ensuring technology services are user-friendly and accessible. Youll also play a key role in supporting our public technology environment and mentoring library staff.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer service duties including shifts at Sam Merrifield Library during operating hours, M-F. This includes one evening shift on Wednesday and a Saturday morning shift every three weeks.Highly developed skills in producing marketing materials for libraries that includes coordinating and publishing all library related content, digital and physical, within Council guidelines.Liaise with various council staff and vested interests to complete projects to tight deadlines.Manage the Libraries and Learning social media online presence, developing and publishing content within Council guidelines.As a customer service shift supervisor, demonstrate leadership and a team approach to staff to ensure efficient operation of the library.Attend and participate in regular team, portfolio and special interest group meetings.Contribute to strategic organisational planning.Skills & ExperienceTo succeed in this role, you will have a Library and Information Science qualification acceptable for ALIA Associate membership, along with relevant experience in public libraries, particularly in delivering print and online marketing for the Moonee Valley Libraries. You will bring strong knowledge of design, web content creation, social media platforms, and stakeholder management. Your strong communication skills, ability to lead and mentor staff, and commitment to customer service will help you thrive in a team environment that values initiative, innovation, and community connection. They will bring strong organizational skills, leadership experience, and a customer-focused approach to service delivery. Experience in a marketing or communications role is desirable.
