Coral Expeditions is wholly owned by the NRMA and joins a connected family of companies including NRMA Parks and Resorts, NRMA Roadside Assist, NRMA Marine and Ferries as well as SIXT Car Rentals.Job DescriptionThe RoleOur Galley Assistant will assist the Chefs to provide all guests and crew with nourishing meals, to the highest standard at all times.Duties include but are not limited to:Cleaning and washing of all dishes.Ensure galley cleaning and hygiene maintenance is maintained.Assistance with food preparation as directed.Adhere to the published trip menu cycle ensuring all meals are prepared in readiness for mealtimes.Maintain good operational and organisational skills to adhere to galley operations, resulting in good time management.Maintain appropriately clean and well organised dry stores, fridges, cool room and freezer.Maintain food safety, galley cleanliness and hygiene always, ensuring compliance with HACCP and local council requirements.Ensure waste is kept to a minimum.Ensure galley equipment is cared for and maintained.Provide support and training to joining and training crew.What you will bring to usPrevious experience in a similar role, desirable.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent personal presentation.High level of customer service and a passion for food.Demonstrated safe working practices mindset.Tolerance of others to work and live in a small environment for long periods of time.What we can offer youShipboard rosters are generally 6 - 8 weeks In duration.This will vary withitineraries.Free accommodation and meals onboard.An opportunity to see spectacular places.Career paths in Maritime and/or Kitchen with internationally recognised experience.As we screen all applicants and select candidates whose qualifications and experience meet our needs, we will carefully consider your application during the initial screening and will contact you if you are selected to continue in the recruitment process.
