The Team:The Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania''s second largest hospital with a busy elective and emergency service utilising 9 main Operating Theatres. The LGH works closely with the University of Tasmania and is a major clinical teaching and research centre. All our services work closely together to deliver excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce and the Tasmanian community guided by our CARE values.The Role:Hospital Aides work within the ORS interdisciplinary team to support elective and emergency surgery focusing on high standards of infection control, management of sterile and non sterile stock and monitoring of consumables.The role involves many and varied manual tasks over a large footprint of 9 Operating Theatres, Sterilising Department and associated areas.The interdisciplinary staffing cohort in the Operating Suite are guided and practice by the THS-N CARE values and the ORS GRITS values to endorse a safe and harmonious workplace.The Operating Room Suite is a dynamic environment requiring the successful applicant to prioritize tasks, adapt and respond to changing situations.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Why Tasmania:The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. It also means embracing a lifestyle where you can enjoy extraordinary experiences outside of work while making a significant impact on the community during work.Details of appointment:Fixed term full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date until 14 Feb 2026.notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary: $67,193 to $72,126 per annum.
