The successful applicant will work in the department providing elective and emergency care for all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.Royal Hobart hospital is Tasmanias largest hospital and major referral centre and has the tertiary NICU in the state. The Womens and Childrens department at RHH offer a comprehensive service including 24-hour labour ward coverage with over 2000 births per annum with both simple and complex care requirements. It provides outpatient high risk obstetric management including access to CVS and amniocentesis, advanced ultrasound and early pregnancy assessment in the new fetal monitoring unit. Extensive outpatient Gynaecology services include colposcopy, outpatient hysteroscopy, Urodynamics and Urogynaecology as well as routine gynaecology clinics. All areas of gynaecological surgery are performed.As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.
