Endometriosis Western Australia Inc are currently looking for two (2) board members to join our board, one (1) of which must have legal expertise:Positions Available:1 x Ordinary Board Member1 x Deputy PresidentWhy Join Us?Advocacy and Awareness: Break down the barriers of stigma and silence that so often surround this condition.Enhancing Support Networks: Ensure that individuals affected by endometriosis in Western Australia have access to the resources and community they need to manage their condition effectively.Responsibilities:Maintaining and (as necessary) refining a system of good governance that is appropriate for the organisation, adhering to the ACNCs five governance standards.Driving the strategic direction of the organisation.Advocate for the organisations mission, vision, and programs to the public and stakeholders.Act as a fiduciary of the organisation, ensuring its financial stability and accountability.Provide legal guidance to the board on various matters, such as governance, contracts, fundraising, advocacy, and risk management.Participate in board meetings, committees, and events (where required).Regularly reviewing the board''s structure and composition.Work collaboratively with the Board to fulfil the organisations compliance obligations and strategic milestones.Provide advocacy and represent the organisation when required. This may include presentations, meetings with government, policy makers and other Endometriosis organisations.Deliver projects as agreed by the board that align to the organisations vision, missions and values.Any other specific responsibilities as agreed by the Board.About You:To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following selection criteria:Have demonstrated Board experience and a comprehensive understanding of non-profit governance standards and responsibilities.Have a passion for the mission and vision of the organisation.Have demonstrated experience in non-profit law or related fields.Have excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Be well connected in the non-profit and health sector.Ability to read and comprehend corporate accounts, financial materials and financial reporting requirements.Ability to identify strategic opportunities and threats with demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic priorities and achievement of business objectives.Experience in implementing, managing or overseeing risk management and compliance frameworks including legal and regulatory compliance.Completion of a formal qualification/training in governance or a directorship (e.g., AICD, GIA, or equivalent).Ideally a membership of a professional body (e.g., AICD, GIA, etc).Be able to devote at least four (4) hours per month to board duties and attend Board Meetings held once a month (in the evening).Attend at least one (1) Endometriosis WA event or symposium per year.Attend one (1) Endometriosis WA Strategy Planning Day per year (usually held on a Saturday).Be able to work effectively in a team and respect diverse opinions.This is an elected position, with interested candidates required to become financial members of Endometriosis Western Australia in order to nominate for this role.This is an excellent opportunity to do meaningful work for the endometriosis community in Western Australia in a supportive, friendly and professional environment.How to Apply:If you''re eager to make an impact, please send your resume to info@endometriosiswa.org.au.Seniority LevelExecutiveEmployment TypeBoard MemberJob FunctionBusiness Development and SalesIndustriesWellness and Fitness Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
