Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers an unforgettable luxury escape, where guests discover the perfect blend of the French Zest and Sofitel luxury.Following the successful relaunch and transformation of Sydneys landmark, we are setting a new benchmark for excellence.Why Sofitel Sydney Wentworth?Ideally situated in the heart of central Sydneys business and shopping districts, with easy access to public transport (trains, buses, ferries, light rail).Industry benefits available worldwide on parking, accommodation, dining, and lifestyle services from day one.Enhanced parental leave program.Job DescriptionProvide painting services to the highest quality standards as required.Liaise with departments and the Assistant Chief Engineer regarding work requirements.Plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and handle emergencies effectively.Support other areas and replace absent employees when needed.Collaborate harmoniously with all hotel staff.Attend relevant training programs.Perform daily maintenance and repairs, including guest room reports, departmental requests, and duty manager instructions.Carry out alterations throughout the hotel/resort.Replace broken windowpanes (glazing).Re-grout shower recesses and perform tiling tasks.Repair and install internal and external fittings such as sliding doors, fly screens, curtain rods, drawers, cupboard doors, locks, etc.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by departments to ensure proper functionality.Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruptions.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during maintenance tasks.QualificationsProven experience in painting, tiling, glazing, and general maintenance, preferably in hospitality or facilities management.Knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and relevant tools and materials.Competency in basic repair and installation tasks, including carpentry, sliding doors, fly screens, and curtain rods.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues efficiently.Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations and commitment to safe practices.Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and respond to emergencies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to support various maintenance functions and adapt to changing priorities.Trade qualification or relevant certification in painting, building maintenance, or related fields (preferred).Additional InformationJoining our team unlocks generous local, national, and international industry benefits on accommodation, dining, travel, wellbeing, and more from day one.
