About This Role On behalf of our client, we are seeking an environmental and regulatory technical assistant to join their team in Docklands, Victoria. The main purpose of this position is to maintain environmental monitoring equipment and provide support to Environmental Engineers with routine monitoring and data collection tasks. Inspection, basic maintenance, and testing of multimedia (air, water, and solid) portable environmental monitoring equipment used in an oil complex including stack monitoring equipment, PID, FID analyzers, etc. Maintaining inventory of spares for this equipment, record keeping of all related items managed by the environmental team. Providing environmental and regulatory technical support. Assist Senior Environment Engineer and Environment Engineers in their activities for routine environmental monitoring and environmental data collection. Complete any other environment-related activities assigned by the Senior Environment Engineer and/or Environment Engineer. Requirements Experience with an oil and gas company in the SSHE and/or regulatory compliance field, preferably related to construction or extractive industries, projects, or other international construction with environmental, regulatory, socioeconomic, and health aspects. Degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related technical/science disciplines; preferred but not mandatory. Understanding of basic industry project construction principles and techniques (upstream petroleum industry preferred). Knowledge of Environmental, Regulatory, Safety, Health processes, and Government Affairs/Regulatory Compliance tools. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; advanced in Adobe for document management.
