About The Role The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations. Under the direction and supervision of Enviro Services Coordinators, you will support hospital operations, deliver excellent customer service, and assist in stock maintenance and control. Your duties may include: Working as part of a supportive, collaborative team and independently when required. Providing a safe, clean environment in wards and units. Supporting operational management of the hospital. Delivering excellent customer service and assisting with stock management. Demonstrating punctuality, integrity, respect, and professionalism. Flexibility to work a rotating roster with various shifts (Morning/Evening/Overnight). Additional Responsibilities Performing cleaning tasks, including decontamination of beds and cleaning of wards and equipment. Transporting patients, handling linen, decontaminating bins, and managing clinical waste. Assisting nursing staff with patient lifting/positioning and bed making. Identifying and reporting risks and hazards. Performing other duties as required by management. Skills and Experience Excellent time management and workload prioritization skills. Experience in hospital or healthcare cleaning services (desirable). Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and infection control standards. Knowledge of material safety data sheets, manual handling, and infection control protocols. Flexibility to work various shifts (desirable).
