1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Public Sector People are partnering with Georges River Council to recruit for a Head of City Sport MaintenanceContract: 6 months contractCompetitive hourly rate: $76.95 to $89.16 p/h + superAs the Head of City Sport Maintenance at Georges River Council, you will manage and oversee all operational and maintenance activities relating to Councils sport and recreation facilities including operations relating to sports turf management of Stadium, Tier 1 Turf Fields, Tier 2 Synthetic Fields and Tier 3 Turf Fields, Golf Course maintenance, programmed and reactive sports building maintenance, sports court maintenance and aquatic facilities maintenance.ResponsibilitiesManage operational functions and maintenance of sports fields and buildingsDeliver annual operating expenditure ($2.8M) and capital works program ($1.0M) on-budget and on-timeLead and mentor a team of 20 FTE employees for maintenance of various sports facilitiesOversee daily operations, ensuring team safety and adherence to WHS requirementsImplement and maintain sports turf management programs for various fieldsProvide strategic advice and contribute to community infrastructure assessmentsDevelop and maintain asset management plans for aquatic facilitiesImplement and maintain golf course management and improvement plansManage programmed and reactive maintenance for sports and aquatic facilitiesOversee contractors for sports infrastructure and facilitiesIdentify and implement innovative turf management practicesDrive efficiency, continuous improvement, and build strong relationships with stakeholdersEssentialMinimum 12 months in a leadership position within an Australian government organisation.Tertiary qualifications in Management, Business or relevant demonstrated experience.Demonstrated experience in facilities management and/or sports turf management.Demonstrated understanding of asset management systems and technology.Current C Class NSW Drivers license.Construction Induction Card (White Card), or ability to attainFor a confidential discussion, please contact Vinea Pho at vinea@publicsectorpeople.com.auPublic Sector People is an equal opportunity employer.
