Job Description

We are seeking talented and enthusiastic professionals to complete their specialty training in a senior role, supporting Registrars and Resident Medical Officers. This position is best suited for a level 5 or 6 trainee.This accredited senior registrar position offers excellent experience in tertiary-level antenatal and intrapartum care, including ultrasound and labour ward management. The training in the general gynaecology unit will enable the successful applicant to consolidate surgical skills, including laparoscopic surgery, prior to entering specialist practice.This is a unique opportunity to acquire all the skills necessary to enter specialist practice upon completion of this appointment.Salary$134,930 - $189,005 per annumSalary is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.ClassificationMedical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022AwardMedical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) AwardPeriod of EmploymentFixed-term, full-time day work, 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro rata), commencing 2 February 2026 until 1 February 2027.Note: For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies, including full-time, part-time, and casual roles.LocationRoyal Hobart Hospital, Obstetrics & GynaecologyEssential RequirementsGeneral or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as required by the position).All registration/licences required for this role must remain current and valid throughout employment.
